During typhoon Frank, the church provided assistance to the province of Aklan, in the island of Panay. The provision of 4,500 boxes of drinking water was greatly appreciated not only by the leaders of the province but the community in general. Through the Helping Hands volunteers, the supplies were immediately distributed to the affected areas.

“The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has expedited the most important need of the situation as a resource especially during this crucial troubling time”, Atty. Allan Quimpo (former Congressman/ Representative Lone District of Aklan) said during the meeting at the Kalibo Airport.
