Ormoc City 30 August 2008 Ormoc Philippines Stake in celebration of its 10th year Anniversary conducted a Cultural Event at the Visayas State University Campus, Baybay City, Leyte on August 30, 2008. In attendance were the members of the Young Men, Young Women and Single Adults from the wards and branches of Albuera, Merida, Isabel, Palompon, Villaba, Kananga, Baybay, Kilim, Mahapllag Ormoc 1st and 2nd. The activity fostered love, fellowshipping and unity among neighboring units.
 
 The Cultural Event opened with a devotional where the Ormoc Philippines Stake Presidency was in attendance. Messages focusing on the importance of Missionary Service and preparations for future Church leaders and responsible parents were given by members and leaders of the stake.  President Edwin Malit, Philippines Tacloban Mission, emphasized how the youth can prepare to serve a fulltime mission and what blessings come from serving the Lord and know the eternal purpose of life in this scared responsibility, declaring this message to the world.
 
 After the devotional, the festive cultural program completed the celebration. The event featured Philippine Folk Dances performed by the members of the different local units. The performances were highlighted by the participants’ colorful costumes, and folk songs from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
 
The Cultural Event will be remembered and treasured by all the members of Ormoc Philippines Stake not only because it was a celebration of their 10th year Anniversary but also because it served as a reminder of the richness of Philippine culture.
