Since the Philippines was rededicated for missionary work on 28 April 28 1961 by President Gordon B. Hinckley (then Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles), the church's growth has been unparalled. Over the succeeding years the church in the Philippines became one of the fastest growing areas in the world.
